Located in Parasan village, Ward No. 7 of Punarwas Municipality, this school was geographically situated in the former Parasan Village Development Committee (VDC), Ward No. 2. To its east flows the Doda River, across which lies the dense forest of India's Dudhwa National Forest. Similarly, to its north is the Tharu community settlement of Ugratara (Udari) in Punarwas Ward No. 5. To the west lies Buddha Basti of Punarwas Municipality Ward No. 7, along with the road leading from the Area Police Office Tribhuvanbasti towards Pratibhanagar Town. To the south is Prithwibasti in Ward No. 8 of Punarwas Municipality. In the east-south direction, the naturally scenic tourist spot picnic area "Raniwan" seems to be smiling in all its natural beauty. Furthermore, slightly to the east-south lies the extended, iconic "Pyaratal," recognized as one of Nepal’s model lakes and a site of natural resource dispute between Nepal and India, struggling for national pride.

The children studying in this school belong primarily to the Rana Tharu community, who are recognized as one of Nepal's oldest indigenous ethnic groups, original inhabitants, and descendants of Maharana Pratap. Socially accustomed to living in joint and extended families, the people here are exceptionally friendly and simple-hearted. They have a tradition of resolving minor disputes, quarrels, and domestic conflicts amicably among themselves through the traditional "Bhalmansa/Pradhana" system. They celebrate their principal festival, Holi, with immense joy and enthusiasm. Although it was customary in the past to celebrate this festival for an entire month, the duration has gradually shortened over time in response to contemporary needs. During the festival, elders and youth of the village gather, form a circle in two groups, sing songs depicting the pastimes of Lord Krishna (Krishna Leela), beg for Phaguwa from house to house, and smear colors on each other. Although the residents of this village are predominantly Hindu, they observe their own distinct indigenous rituals from birth to death. Linguistically, while they do not have a separate script, they use a unique colloquial language that is a blend of Nepali and Hindi.

With the noble intention that no child should be deprived of the light of education, 'Shri Rastriya Primary School' was established in the year 2055 BS to spread the light of education in this village. Two years after its establishment, the school received permission to run Grade 1 in 2057 BS. Although it subsequently obtained permission to run classes up to Grade 7 by 2072/01/30, and managed to run Grades 1 to 7 with great difficulty until the 2079 academic session, a bitter reality emerged. Due to a lack of required teacher quotas, inadequate physical infrastructure, and the school's inability to bear the financial burden, a meeting of parents, social workers, and intellectuals was organized. Having no alternative option to raise physical and financial resources, and acting upon the proverb "cut your coat according to your cloth," the school was forced into the unfortunate situation of cutting down Grades 6 and 7, limiting itself back to Grades 1 to 5 starting from the 2080 academic session.

The school has navigated through various ups and downs alongside the demands of time and the pace of development to reach where it is today. Remembering that education plays a vital role in building a civilized and prosperous society for an ideal community, I would like to express my high appreciation for the dedication and contributions of the social workers and educational pioneers who established this school. Achieving the same level of academic success in the present day as the school did in the past comes with numerous challenges. The lack of attractive physical infrastructure, shortage of teacher quotas, parents' inclination towards private schools, and declining local community interest have led to a gradual decrease in student enrollment.

Overcoming these challenges, elevating academic achievements, and maintaining educational quality is not possible through the sole effort of the state alone. It requires active initiatives from the community, school management committee, teachers, parents, and students. I believe that educational standards can be raised through the meaningful participation of all stakeholders in the steps taken by the state. The quality of educational activities conducted by the school and the human resources produced here can be evaluated accordingly. Finally, expressing my heartfelt gratitude to all stakeholders who have helped bring the school to its present state, I cordially appeal to the social workers, educationists, intellectuals, parents, and dear students of this region to support us in taking this school to greater heights.
